Hi, all.

I am using Fluent 5.5 to calculate thermal and fluid flow on 2d model. To get temperature gradient at specific area, I am conducting bored procedure as follows; 1) Make two lines with constant distance in Interia region (specific area where I would like to know) 2) Save temerature data on these lines as xy file. 3) Caclurate temperature gradient in Spread sheet from xy file.

This work is very tedious and needed time spending. Does anybody let me know how I can get temperature gradient from fleunt directly?

Best regards,

J.W.Ryu

Hi, How do you get the temperature? Can you show the code? Thanks!

Hi, I am sorry what the code means. In solid face of 2d model, I make two lines at interior region by entering coordinates x and y.Then, write xy file for temperature of these lines. I calculate temperature gradient from excel spreadshet.

Thanks,

Hi,if I want to add the energy source term ,C_DTDX,to the energy equation, how should I do?The fluent UDF only defines the velocity gradient, the density gradient, and the pressure gradient, but I need the temperature gradient(C_DUDX) every iteration. When I deal with this term in DEFINE_SOURCE,I can't work it out.DO you have some suggests for the problem? Thanks! Happy Christmas!

Try this: C_T_G(cell,thread)[i]

,where "i=0,1,2" is the direction. I hope it will be work....

If I want to direct calculation of enthalpy and species mass fraction, Will C_H_G(cell,thread)[i] and C_YI_G(cell,thread,i)[i] be work?? Thanks a lot!
