Gravity option in Fluent?

Have anyone of you worked on gravity influence on flow of fluids with no heat transfer involved?
I am able to see a hydrostatic pressure gradient only when I turn on the specific operating density and change the value to zero. I would appreciate if you could give some tips on what discretization schemes I should use. Thanks, Suresh |

If you use VOF of multiphase problem, you can use body weighted discretization schemes

But if I don't have a VOF model should I use a different scheme because I see that the velocity vectors point out of domain if I use a standard scheme for pressure velocity coupling? I would be thankful for your suggestions Suresh |

I do not quite understand your questions. What do you mean velocity vector point out of domain? Could you describe your model in detai? Is it as steady problem or unsteady problem? Multiphase or single phase. Different modelling requires deffernt scheme if you want a correct result.

My problem is a steady state laminar flow of a viscous fluid (single phase) in a cross-like connection. i just want to see if inclusion of gravity changes flow fields.

You can try to use sencond order upwind scheme. Anyway, u can compare with your results by applying differnt schemes.

Hello,
I try to define vector Display using Text Command I've written these following lines: /display/set/velocity-vectors/auto-scale? no /display/set/velocity-vectors/scale-head 0.1 /display/set/velocity-vectors/color-levels 20 ; /display/velocity-vector ; vector of velocity colored by velocity-magnitude ; minimum value (m/s) 0.0 ; maximum value (m/s) 0.5 ; Scale factor 2 ; Skip every 2 But I can't find anywhere how to specify the option "Clip-to-Range" of the GUI environment.
