Cavitation "Very High Velocity in the Cavity Core"

Hi all;
I want to moldel an unsteady cloud cavitatioin on a simple hydrofoil by Fluent6.1.22. I begin with a high outlet pressure corresponding to a non-cavitatind condition and then decrease the pressure to reach my operating condition. At this point when cavitation occur (this is done with very good convergency and results), after some time steps the velocity value in the core of cavity locally become high(100 m\s). And at the same point also turbulent kinetic energy! Of course I must apply the Reboud's recomendation of modifying turbulence viscosity in cavitation region for cloud cavitation. I did not do this until now. Should I change termination criteria for momentum and turbulence, like pressure and VOF equation? Please guid me. Thanks. |

Hi!
Just wondering...do you get cavitation cloud separation without the modification of turbulent viscosity? Regards MATEUS |
