do i need to do something to udfs when using parallel processing, the udf i am using is to move a wall in a moving dynamic maesh problem the motion is a simple sinusoid and so there is no counting of face cells etc.

I have tried to load the udf which worked in the non parallel version and Fluent always seems to hang at this point.

Hi Phil,

The process of Installation to run fluent in parallel has some additional installation procedures with respect to UDF's,which has to done while you want to compile Fluent in parallel, you have to contact the administrator to do that. Otherwise UDF will compile well in non-parallel machines.

Hope this helps,

krishna

Hi Phil,

Your admin will have access to the Fluent User's webpage, hosted by www.fluent.com , you and I cannot have acces to it, as it requires a login and password which is given at the time of purchase of the software, there you can download instructions to set up Fluent in Parallel and also special Instructions to compile UDF's to run in Parallel. I am currently planning to convert our CAD lab (40 systems of P4 configutation) to set up and run problems in Parallel.

CFD in terms of Vehicular aerodynamics is gud out here, but I am working in Aerospace.

Cheers,

krishna.
