3D airfoil

hello i am new to fluent please guide me how i can draw 3D airfoil in gambit with any arbitrary dimentions. thanking in advance sania malik

First of all you may want to model only half wing in order to save time.
You can build a 3-D box with the wing attached to one of the walls and define that plane as symmetry. Make sure the box is large enough to prevent boundary effects (say 10 chords length before and after the wing). Now the requested wing profile (NACA whatever) can be found on many sites as a list of x,y points. In gambit you should look for an option to create vertexes from file. This should solve your prolem... regards |
