Default Case in Fluent Tutorial 1
Posts: n/a
Fluent tutorial 1 illustrates the solution for the water mixing of two pipes, with two temperatures. The elbow drain the warm water along it and the hot water flow into the elbow at the turning of elbow. Based on the information at page 1-2, problem description.

How to decide what kinds of boundary conditions should be used? Do anybody can give me idea why choose "pressure-outlet" as boundary condition of outlet? Why not "outflow"?

At the inlet, the turbulence intensity is given 5%, why "Intensity and hydraulic diameter" specification been used and why hydraulic diameter at velocity-inlet-5 been set as 32in?
