Hi

I am using fluent 6.0 to study the flow over a cylinder as a part of a bigger study involving more complex shapes, as vehicles.

My problem is DRAG. Watching the graph on the evolution of drag with Re, you can see a plateau of about 1.0 from 1e3 to 1e5. then goes down to about 0.35 at 5E5 or 1E6. Ok, nothing new until now.

I tried a k-e raelizable model with enhanced wall treatment. The constants used where both the default ones and the poroseva ones for airfoils.

I get ok the low Cd, but the high ones below 5E5, there is no way to obtain them

Is there some obvious mistake which I havenīt gone through?

Have some of you tried modelling a 2D cylinder? If so, which viscous modells have you used and with what constants?

Thanks for your help:
