I have question when I decide which computer should I choose for Fluent.
One is 2 ADM Opteron 265 Dual-Core 1.8 GHz 1MB 64 Bit processors? The other is 2 Intel Xeon single core 3.2GHz, 2MB L2 Cache processors? Does fluent run better on the first one? The price is better. Thanks. Yi |

Take the dual opteron. I have never found Fluent to run well on dual Xeons. Has to do with how the processors share memory. With the opteron, you will want the 2.6 linux kernal since smpi is noticably slower on the 2.4 kernal.
