Default Fluent Parallel Error

Hello,

I'm trying to run Fluent in parallel on an AMD Phenom 9600 with an nForce 630a chipset on Ubuntu Linux 7.10 x64. The machine itself is headless and I'm using ssh to connect to it from my laptop. Serial Fluent runs perfectly, however, when I try to open a case in parallel using the following command:

~/fluent 3ddp -g -t4

I get the following error:

Host spawning Node 0 on machine "will-headless" (unix). /opt/Fluent.Inc/fluent6.3.26/bin/fluent -r6.3.26 3ddp -node -t4 -pethernet -mpi=hp -mport 127.0.1.1:127.0.1.1:40236:0 Starting /opt/Fluent.Inc/fluent6.3.26/multiport/mpi/lnamd64/hp/bin/mpirun -np 4 /opt/Fluent.Inc/fluent6.3.26/lnamd64/3ddp_node/fluent_mpi.6.3.26 node -mpiw hp -pic ethernet -mport 127.0.1.1:127.0.1.1:40236:0 The authenticity of host '127.0.1.1 (127.0.1.1)' can't be established. RSA key fingerprint is "removed for security purposes". Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes

When I respond yes, Fluent does not respond at all and I have to ctrl-c to regain control. I do the same thing on my laptop which is a core2duo running the 32-bit ubuntu linux 6.06 and Fluent runs just fine. I tried having the machine ssh into itself just to add the host RSA key to known hosts but this doesn't make a difference. Any suggestions?

Try using the connecting IP 127.0.0.1 instead and see if that works.

When your machine is not connected to the network, it may have such an issue. In any case, you can try another mpi, like intel. Run it with -mpi=intel.
