Default report discrete phase data problem.

I want to get the particles information on one special area. So I go to report--discrete phase data--sample, but there I can only get data for existing boundaries or planes. I tried to create new surface in Fluent, but it seems that by this method, the planes created must be a "plane" format, that is a "flat" surface. but I want data of a curved surface, which does not exist in my Gambit geometry. Does anyone know how to get the discrete phase data information on a virtural complicated surface? If not, I have to go back to redo my Gambit geometry to add some virtual surface there. But I really don't want to do so, because I have many cases there.
