Dear all:
I got a problem with the uds profile: The boundary cells are registered from adapt list and then separated from grid list. Cells adjacented to the boundary could be got after that named fluid-1. Here is the question: uds source terms can not be added to the fluid-1 cells while those could be added to the fluid cells. I don't know why, Does anyone can help me? |

Dear;
I adopted the same method to apply the UDS source on the "cells adjacent to the boundary" but I did not get any problem while putting the constant source term. Now, is "fluid-1" cells zone are the cells adjacent to boundary? Regards |

Thank you for your reply. I separate the cells from the velocity inlet boundary. At first, I choose "adapt->boundary(inlet, named by myself)->mark". Then I choose"grid->separate->cells->separate". Finally I get the zone "fluid-1". But I can't hook my uds source term to the zone even there is no options from the list. Could you please give me some details of your application? If it is convenient for you, we can communicate with by email: fredzj@gmail.com regards! |

Dear;
Instead of doing "adapt->boundary (inlet, named by myself)->mark", go for ""adapt->region->----". And in "Region Adaptation panel" set the coordinates of the neighboring cells to your boundary. Remember, source term (kg/m^3-s) can be applied on the zone instead of boundary. I hope, after trying this, you can solve your problem. About my work, I will email you. Regards |

I tried out your method. Fortuatelly I managed to get a cell zone"fluid-8" which can be hooked the uds profile. But when I processed another boundary by the same way, I got a cell zone"fluid:023" which can't be hooked my uds profile. I found the difference between the two zones that one is "minus" and the other is "colon". Am I wrong again? |
