Hi everyone!
I am currently running transient simulations that produce a large number of data files (between 200 and 1000). I have seen a very old post about this problem that explains what needs to be done: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/flu...ocess-how.html However, I have only recently started using programming (seems to have been overlooked during my degree) and am only a beginner when it comes to using code. Can anyone out there explain the basics behind how to create a program that will allow me to post process all of these data files quickly? Any information would be a great help! Thanks, Chris |

Hi
For post-processing transient data I strongly recommend CEI Ensight or Tecplot. Fluent's post-processing is not satisfactory for me, but if you want to do it on Fluent again you can look into the manual for journal creating. Journals are just the text files that includes your steps. Like read-case-data, choose contours->Velocity etc. Again you can find detailed info in manual.
