I am a bigginer and need some help to run my mesh on parallel processors on one Solaris machine and I remember seeing something about how to fore the master node to only host the distribution of processing and not participate in the processing to avoid overloading the host node. Does anyone know what is this code?

it seems to me you do not have to write any specific code to make the host node not participate inthe processing. you can check the fluent 6.3.26 user guide page 31-2.
below is the node distribution in one of my cases (nodes=4pn=5) , there is host node and it is not a compute node. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ID Comm.
