Hi,

I have a couple of 2-D surfaces, a circle and an ellipse both created using bult in Gridpro tools in Surface tab. Unfortunately I cannot find a way to intersect these two surfaces in Gridpro. I have attached a figure of these intersecting surfaces.

Any kind of help is appreciated.

Thanks

P.S.: I have applied double-assignment to the corners shared by ellipse and circle as in Tutorial, but it is not working for me! The picture showing blocking is attached.

Well, the problem solved once I increased the density on the edges!

Dear Syavash,

I am glad that you were able to solve the problem by yourself. The points to remember while meshing in GridPro are appropriate topology structure and reasonably close positioning of blocks to the respective assigned surfaces with balanced density.

I have attached an image showing the grid block structure of a mesh similar to your problem.

Regards,
Chitra

Hi Chitra,

Thanks, your block topology seems great. I would like to ask another question.

Is it possible to extrude a 2-D surface in a direction (say z axis) in order to get a 3-D surface?!
For instance, extrude a 2-D rectangle to create a 3-D channel. Honestly, I have difficulties with surface generation in Gridpro.

Regards,
Syavash

Dear Syavash,

Please check the video in the below link to extrude a 2d wireframe into 3d and create surfaces from it :

Hope this resolves your difficulty.
