So I've been using the Corsair Void RGB USB Gaming Headset for a while now, and had this issue since the beginning, and never have been able to find any solution online.
I'm trying to record myself, but whenever I need to hold a note for over a second, the recording audio just instantly drops to about half the volume and after another second it drops again. I've tried online mic test at this point, reinstalling the drivers, both for the headset and for Realtek, disabling all other sound devices on the computer, closing all other applications that could use the mic, disabling the exclusive control option, changing USB ports, and probably a bunch more stuff that I'm forgetting at this point. Nothing I do has any effect, and I can't properly record anything when my voice just jumps in volume all over the place, has anyone any idea? Thanks. I'm no expert, but have used windows machines and microphones for performing sound calibration for high end stereos. There is something in windows mic settings called "automatic leveling" or something like that. It adjusts the mic sensitivity on the fly. You want to turn that off.
Not sure if it is there for all microphones, or just the mic I was using, but it is worth checking out. |
