Hi,
I've been browsing this forum for some time now and I can't get myself to make the right chose on which hardware I should choose for my application with a budget of AUD 2,500 (~ USD 1,900) for CPU, motherboard, GPU, memory and storage. I will be starting a research masters next year and in the mean time I want to do some self development on Ansys Fluent and OpenFoam. I would like to play around with DPM and chemical reaction modelling. This desktop will not be used for any solving application during the thesis as I can depend on the university cluster for that. However, I would really like to have something reliable set up at home which can be to some degree upgraded as time moves on. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Also, I have previously came across an informative post by Flotus1 on this forum talking about different setups for different levels of applications and I can't seem to find it anymore. Can someone please attach a link for this post if you know which one I'm referring to. Thank you. |
