Hi guys
I would like to ask you a question about the physical meaning of negative absolute pressure. I am collaborating in developing a CFD simulator for oil reservoirs and I have to integrate it with a Phase Equilibria algorithm in the presence of capillary pressure. I have noticed that in the capillary, when the vapor phase pressure is quite low, the liquid pressure can become negative. What's the physical meaning of it? Could it be physically reasonable? |

No, a negative absolute pressure is not physically reasonable, just like a negative temperature.
If this occurs in a simulation it is usually a sign that something went wrong. |
