Nodoyuna is on a distinguished road
Hello people.

I'm doing a homework about sloshing. This model it's a rectangular tank with water and subjected to horizontal vibrations [ f(t) = A*sin(w*t) ]
But first of all, I need to simulate the problem about a portion of water, which it's inclined in the tank ("membrane holding the water in this position"). This membrane is removed and the portion of water tries to stabilize. I've uploaded a couple of pics to explain what I'm talking about.

I'm having problems with the method of analysis. I expected to work with ALE Formulation because I have to compare this results with others obtained using Lagrangian Formulation.
By the way, if somebody knows any Software which works with LF and give solutions in terms of values and mesh displacement/distortion, I'll be very grateful too.

Please, I need suggestions about Free Licence Software (OpenFOAM e.g.) to do this simulations. I hope this allows the use of an external program like GiD to do my mesh model and then post-process.

Currently I'm using ELMER FEM, but I don't know how to use the FreeSurface equation and how to make my mesh movable. So, I'm trapped for now in my work and need to look another options.

I've read about OpenFOAM as a solution, but I'd be pleased of read about a couple more options.

Thanks in advance, people. Hope you can help me.
(If I'm in a wrong section, please, excuse me, but I don't know where to post this).

Kind regards.
Patricio.
