Hello
Now that I am switching departments (from civil to aerospace/mechanical), I need to understand solution of Euler equations for compressible flows better. I am familiar with literature of solving Navier-Stokes equations with turbulence models for in-compressible flows but there are no waves in the resulting solution. Can you suggest references or online material for beginners that can help me in this transition? Standard CFD books such as Patankar/Versteeg don't discuss these matters well so I never bothered to study them. I would also like to know if this transition requires too much effort (not more than 4 months of work) before I make a decision. I have programmed NS solvers with turbulence (RANS/LES) models before, but reading about wave solutions in compressible flows scare me.
Thanks for your suggestion

Start from the well known Zucrow book for general topic on compressible flows. Then, both Hirsch and LeVeque books are addressed to CFD issues for Euler equations.
