Default Can LES be used in porous media flow?

I'm trying to simulate an unsteady flow in a porous media . But I don't know if the flow is turbulent or laminar. It is said that the perturbation could be damped by Darcy term( along with Brinkman and Forschimmer terms) if the flow is laminar. So LES could be used to simulate the Porous media flow. Is it correct?

Thank you.
