Hello,
I have been trying to simulate the motion of a water droplet on an oil surface through VOF in Fluent. But the complexities in modelling the dynamic contact angle (between oil-water-oil) reached a point beyond which I lost trust in VOF method. I came to know that Lattice Boltzmann can be used for moving contact line on solid-liquid-gas. But, I would like to know if Lattice Boltzmann method will also be able to capture the dynamic contact angle between oil-water-air ! ie., can LBM method take care of the moving contact line(oil-water-air) problem ? Experts in LBM please help me out. Also, are there any other means of solving the dynamic contact angle between oil-water-air ? My original case is a water droplet moving over an oil surface (the water droplet does not touch the solid surface). The movement of water droplet is brought out by a body force in x-direction. Thanks. |
