For analysis of internal rotary pumps ( gear pump) which software is better ? We are interested in cavitation modeling along with moving mesh. Licenses we have are : 1. STAR-CD full version 2. CFX and ICEMCFD ( but only unstructured in ICEMCFD)

STAR-CD can certainly handle this application. There are various clients who use STAR for this work and adapco has plenty of examples as well.
As for CFX, ask some questions about the moving mesh capabilities because it is not as good as STAR. I could be wrong, but I am not convinced that CFX can handle the moving mesh on this type of pump. I have no issues with CFX on the physics of the flow including cavitation. Regards |
