Sofware for spray simulation

Hallo all experts,
I'm facing a project about simulating spray and consequent collision on solid substrate. I only have experience with the microfluid solver from CoventorWare, and heard about that ANSYS also offer certain package for CFD. Could anyone of you give some hints on this simulation, so that I could correctly start with? Except Navier-Stokes equations, is there any other sophisticated theory on this issue? Is there any open project on this topic? Thanks a lot in advance, Joe |

The KIVA family of codes developed at the Los Alamos National Lab - and used at several universities - has a spray model included. This of course is used for fuel injection simulation within the IC engine simulations that KIVA was developed for.

Hi Joe,
It sounds like you are modelling a coating spray technology. I am also doing some modelling in that field for my PhD. SHuo. |

Hi
If you are looking at spray simulation in commercial codes then you should look at all your options, I have used STAR-CD a lot and it is used very widely for engine spray apps and I believe it is the only of the commercial codes that allows volume fractions up to 40% |
