What should be the boundary condtion that we must take while solving a linear advection eauation while the initial condition like u(x,0)=-sin(pi*x) and its domain being bound between [-1,1].........

Please can u elaborate on it . While solving this I took u(0,t)=-sin(pi*(-1-t)) and u(1,t)=-sin(pi*(1-t)),because the general solution is u(x,t)=-sin(pi*(x-t)).In this case the Lax friedrichs method gives an output equal to the IC namely -sin(pi*x) with the same amplitude, rather than 3.6% of the amplitude as given in Culbert Laney which has a similar problem. Please can u tell me whether i am on the right track....
