Meshfree method(s)

What is Meshfree methods? Is it based in finite volume methos and first order or second order-can it become a TVD? Where shall I start background. Is there any URL or basic paper or book!

Hi Chris, I'm doing undergraduate research in this area, although rather than "Meshfree" we call our method "Meshless". Here's a link to a paper you might like to read:
