Airfoil 2D Geometry Parametrization

I am trying to parametrize the geometry of a 2D airfoil using B-Spline. I am using the Linear Least Square method with both 3rd and 4th order B-Splines to generate a primary geometry over which I am using Hoschek updation.
For now I am using a 7025 airfoil's upper surface with 491 points. The least square output starts giving garbage values as I go beyond 50 points for the B-Spline, while the Hoschek updation doesn't improve the geometry by much. Any advice would be appreciated. I can post the code as well. I am using Fortran 90 |
