Hai every one,
Iam currently doing a CFD problem of Rayleigh Benard convection in a bottom heated square cavity. I have created several fine meshes in gambit. But I didn,t get small stream wise vortices at left top side and bottom right side. Could you please help me ![]() |

It's a instability problem. So the final pattern of the simulation depends on many factors, geometry, temperature, initial conditions.... Please keep in mind that transient can give you different results than steady state. Just my experience, not sure it will help your case.

Indeed, it strongly depends on your geometry.
For further in-depth detail you might want to have a look at Bénard Cells and Taylor Vortices by E. L. Koschmieder (Cambridge Press). |
