Boundary conditions for windtunnel

Hello,

I've got a rectangular domain setup to simulate a 3/4 open-section windtunnel. What would be the correct boundary conditions for the walls that represent the open areas of the tunnel?

I already tried pressure outlet conditions for the 'open' walls and the simulation failed miserably - reversed flow all over the place! I'm now using slip walls and suppressed the prism layer on them, but I'm not sure this is really correct.

The inlet wall is set to velocity inlet condition. The outlet set to pressure outlet condition.

The only real option with wind tunnel correlation work is to model the whole thing. You will need to include the room the jet sits in and ideally and upstream geometry you can get hold of.

If you replace the edge of the jet with a free slip wall or symmetry plane you will not get reasonable correlation.

When we do tunnel correlation work the models can get huge. It's necessary to get things to correlate.

Thanks Totalsim. I see your point. I don't have complete information on the geometry around windtunnel - I'll have to use my best guess or use a simplified geometry.
