"O" Grid?????

Hi guys,

Came across some literature recently that referenced an "O" grid.

It was used to capture the flow near impeller vanes.

Any thoughts on what exactly that is?

An O-grid is a structured grid that wraps around the body, such that the last plane normal to the wrap around direction is coincident with the first plane normal to the wrap around direction. See also

Thanks heaps, The picture in the link explained it well.

Ive heard that a C-H grid is best for use on airfoils.

Any thoughts on why this is?

A C grid or H grid will allow for the wake to be better resolved.
