Default Difference between Lax and MacCormack methods on solutions of 1D problem.

Hello, I am a beginner in CFD. I would like to know what is the difference between the Lax method and the MacCormack method solution on a one dimiensional problem. I would also like to know how CFL and the aritificial viscosity coefficient effects the results.
