Hi,

I don't know which software I should use to draw CFD diagrams. I need to show, for example the boundary conditions, the geometry, etc. I looked a bit on the internet, but the only thing I find are electrical or business diagrams tools.

I would preferably like something free or open-source.

You can do all of this with a combination of MS Paint, Snipping Tool and Microsoft Word. If you have MathType you can get better looking symbols than the greek script and symbols that come installed with Word.

Basically you draw the picture in MS Paint. You can get arrows and other basic shapes (for example arrows) and symbols from MS Word. Then copy them from Word into Paint using the snipping tool. It can be a little tedious, but all of these tools are typically available to most people or are free on the internet. I had a professor who did all his sketches for his published book, tests, homework etc... this way.

Oldie but a goodie is Xfig. But more recently, I have been using Inkscape.

Take a look at IPE. Native latex integration makes writing equations/symbols in the figures very easy
