I am running a case with flow past a tidal turbine with a cylindrical support monopile. There is a coin shaped inner domain with the turbine rotor in it and then there is the outer domain.
When I run it as an unsteady case (from time, t=0) with pimpleDyMFoam everything runs fine. But I want to run it as a steady case first and then use this solution as the initial condition of the transient case so that I can save some time on the transient run. So when I try to run simpleFoam with MRF, the case crashes with a bounding omega error( bounding to really large values).
When I ran the steady case with just the turbine rotor without any cylindrical monopile, the case runs fine. Similarly when I run a case with just the cylindrical monopile without any turbine (just like flow past a cylinder), that runs fine too. It's the interaction between these two which is causing a problem in steady state but not in unsteady state.
Can someone please help?
