Hey guys. I am a Chinese student who is learning CFD. In a lot of CFD papers I am reading now, there is a saying from 'lofts to plots'. I can understand each words of them separately. However, I have no idea what it means when they are put together. Any one can help me with that ? Thank you.

Can you maybe give one or two examples (either the Paper DOI or the complete paragraph with the expression)? I have never seen this expression.

Sure. It's from the paper 'Thirty years of development and application of CFD at Boeing Commercial Airplanes '. I will give several examples below.

It seems to mean from first conception (loft) to getting results (plots). It's od, I've never heard it before and Googling it gives nothing, could originally be a saying from language which isn't English?

Yea, it's weird. That's why I get so confused when I found this saying occurs several times in this paper. I Googled it, and I think this saying only occurs in some aero papers. So I guess it's kind of words only used by aero engineers ?

Lofting was a technique for drafting wing shapes years ago.
