Hi all,
What is the difference between Non-staggered and Collocated grid? According to Solution of Navier-Stokes equations on non-staggered grid(Date, 1992), ‘non-staggered’ grid arrangement, in which the velocities and the pressure are stored at the same location, that is, at the grid node. According to CFD-Online Wiki, In collocated grid storage all flow variables are stored at the same locations. I guess all the variables are stored at the grid node in non-staggered grid, and all the variables are stored at the same location(no matter where that is) in the collocated grid. Am I right? If the variables are stored at the grid nodes, I wonder if I need to say just 'non-staggered grid', or 'collocated and non-staggered grid'. Any comments would be appreciated. Carl |

According to the book of Peric & Ferziger, colocated grid and non-staggered grid are the same.
