If you should give a definition Homogeneous Isotropic Turbulence, what would it be? Why is so important and where can i see and find it?

In few words, homogeneus isotropic turbulence is the flow when statistics are independent from translation and rotation...it is a hystorical model for the study of turbulence. You can have a look the fundamental textbooks (from Lumley up to Pope)
