Hello,

I'm quite new to this field and currently running simulations with ANSYS-Fluent and the goal is to create a droplet generator in a micro-scale in 2D. I was going to post this under the Fluent-Multiphase section but thought this may apply to other software too.

Two liquids are involved, one is water and the other is fuel oil (C19H30). With the water continuously flowing across and oil is injected in to create droplets. I've figured that defining the surface tension coefficient is necessary to achieve this but I'm not sure what surface tension coefficient I should be using. All I can find online is the coefficient for water and air but there's not much resource on fuel oil and water. Does anyone know what sort of equation that can derive the coefficient?

The density and the viscosity for both liquids are known. And "Continuum Surface Force Model" is used.

Please let me know if any more information is needed!

Usually this needs to be measured to be accurate. Try to check if theres some empirical equation for estimation in Perry's etc.
