Are you working with the traffic flow model, a set of hyperbolic equations that can be solved by the characteristic lines method?

hmm, maybe, i dont fully understand about traffic flow model, but the main idea is to extract power from "shock wave" that cause from a moving vehicles

Have a look to the book of Leveque on hyperbolic equations, you can also find several notes in internet, for example http://www.math.nyu.edu/faculty/childres/traffic2.pdf
You need to understand the theory of characteristic lines for hyperbolic equations |
