Hello all. I am a beginner in CFD.
I am trying to reproduce using FVM some existing results which were obtained using FEM. Will my attempt work? Will I get the same results? |

Any consistent and stable numerical method (FD, FV, FEM, SM, ..) must be convergent to the correct solution. You should focus on the fact each method has an accuracy order that depends on the discretization and that a finite computational grid introduces further approximation. Therefore, you should better wonder what about FEM and FV solutions of the same accuracy order on the same computational grid. |
