Grid dependence of a numerical model

Introduction
Not so far I found that numerical solution of couple of hyperbolic nonlinear balance law and nonlinear ode systems depend on number of grid points.

Question
Does anybody met that effect in Balance Law - ODE coupled system simulation? How to manage it?

I am not sure about your question... The dependence of the numerical solution on the grid size is a tatutological issue...If am right, I see that your solution has a mathematical discontinuity that can never be resolved exactly on a finite grid.

So what are you asking exactly?
