Hello All!
I wanted to ask that is it possible to get unfiltered velocities from LES simulations? If not, how we can get the turbulent stress tensor? Since I wanted to verify Navier stokes equation from fluent results and the NS for LES involves turbulent stress tensor. How can I get the turbulent stress tensor from fluent for Dynamic Smagorinsky-Lilly Model ? Thanks! |

No, you can't get the original unfiltered velocity field. However, you can compute the fluctuations by statistically averaging the filtered velocity field and subtracting the filtered velocity field. That is the better approximation you can do. |
