I need help with the below question, Kindly guide me with this.

Using CFD, how to differentiate numerical treatment of bounded shear flows (like channels, pipes
) and unbounded shear flows (like jets, mixing layers). (Discretization and physics).

well, one require boundary layer meshes / resolution, the other do not... not sure I get your question

Thanks for the response! Well you answered to my question to a good extent. But i still feel bit confused as the question seeks for a differentiation numerically. Is there any other difference do you think of?

To be honest, I am not sure about the meaning of your question. If you consider that both are incompressible, viscous flows, only the BCs are relevant to discriminate the problem un terms of the physics.
The grid resolution is dictated by the BL for bounded flows and mixer layer in unbounded flows.
I don't see a great difference in the numerics.
