Hello Friends
I want to know if my PC hardware is OK for a simulation with following details?
a 3-D in compressible flow with using turbulence model
my mesh is structure with number of about 16 million element.
i have windows 10- 64 bit OS
CPU: core i5_4460 3.2 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
and how many cores i should set in console?

flotus1 has a spectacular aura aboutflotus1 has a spectacular aura about
Your CPU has 4 cores and 4 threads. So 4 is a reasonable starting point for the amount of threads to run a simulation.
You did not mention any solver or relevant settings, but even in the best case scenario, 8GB of RAM will probably not be enough for 16 million cells.
Depending on the motherboard, it can be upgraded to up to 32 GB of RAM. Which depending on the solver might still not be enough. For example, Ansys Fluent coupled solver run in double precision requires upwards of 4GB per million cells, even for a basic single-phase turbulent flow with no additional physics.
