Dear CFD Experts,

currently I'm writing my Master's Thesis in Space Engineering about the design of an airplane/drone, that should fly in the Venus atmosphere. As my last step of my thesis, I would like to investigate if the airplane is stable, if for example a wind from the side or from below comes. For that, I would need to model the flight dynamics. I had only one course in university about FEM methods and CFD and I was wondering if it could be somehow possible to build a little simulation in CFD, that shows the flight dynamics of the airplane for a given scenario, e.g. wind from the side. Does someone know if and how this is possible?

I would be very happy about an answer!

Best regards,
Felix

You can simulate this condition with almost every CFD code or software and then check the incoming force on the boundaries and see if your plane can handle those forces or not.
If you need something more, then I think you need to use FSI (Fluid-Structure Interaction) in your CFD software.
