Hi guys,
I am a student engineer and i'm pretty bad with coding. I had some project to do about Navier Stokes solver and spectral method and I really didn't understand how to manage it. But, I have to admit that I would like to do better. So, if someone knows how to learn CFD (book or video references...). I prefer to use python but I realized that MATLAB was more used in companies so I don't know which one to chose. Thanks for reading. |

You will learn to code by doing coding projects. At my school we were introduced to MATLAB through a numerical methods course. Then in my CFD classes we were already expected to know how to code. I was never taught best coding practices for speed and data management, but after doing several projects I got better at it.
If you are starting as a complete beginner I would recommend try to find a YouTube tutorial or read a numerical methods book ("python for engineers and scientists" is a good one). If you are deciding if Python or MATLAB is best I would go with the one you are more familiar with. In my experience MATLAB licenses are hard to come by in industry so Python is more widely used. |

I don't have any experience coding CFD. I have done a lot of coding though (much more python than MATLAB). Python is a better language and is free. MATLAB has better pre-built functions. Edit: I used a tutorial on this site when studying python and it was all right. I already knew how to code though. https://www.python-course.eu/python3_course.php
