I am working on a project based on the simulation of water splash generated by the rear wheel of a bike.
I want to simulate the trajectory of water caused by the wheel. I started with following setup and boundary condition A wheel geometry enclosed by two enclosure both cubical box based on hex dominant and tet dominant mesh. I used tet dominant mesh for enclosure near to the geometry as the flow around the wheel is of major concern. Boundary included: Ground : moving along x-axis inlet : velocity along x-axis for air wheel walls: set to rotation about the origin along z axis outlet: at gauge pressure Model used : VOF phase 1 : air phase 2: water, Implicit method Result obtained: https://youtu.be/sa7e6Uh7i_Y I used pseudo transient method to get the above result. I don't know my simulation result are able to capture any physics of such problem. Is there any better approach to solve this type of problem? I read about mrf approach but as my problem involves both translational and rotational effects I am not sure mrf approach would be good for this problem. |
