CFD10111 is on a distinguished road
Hi,

I am a bit stuck on the simulation set up for my problem in ANSYS Fluent. I am trying to simulate the mid-plane of a battery module which pretty much looks like the image i attached (so it's a 2D simulation). I am running it as steady state.

There is fluid flowing from left to right within the battery module. I'm trying to apply velocity inlet, pressure outlet and also no slip BCs at the cell boundaries. But, the cells generate 6W of heat. Also, the cells and fluid both have initial temperatures which I am unsure of how to set in the simulation. I defined the rectangular cells as solid.

In the velocity inlet BC, I inputted the initial temp of the fluid in the Thermal tab. Was this correct? and how do I set an initial temperature for the battery cells? The second image I attached shows the thermal tab of the cell boundaries. Can I just calculate the heat flux using Q"=6/4*length*width (despite it being a 2D simulation where the depth isn't included)? Should I set the wall thickness as 0? & I don't get why I have to input a heat generation rate.

Thank you so much!
