Hi all,

I thought it might be helpful for some of you if I share the tool I developed to set up the meshing parameters for boundary layer meshing (prism layers/ inflation layers).

My main focus lies on external aerodynamic simulations of Formula Student and Formula One racecars and I struggled in the last years to find the right settings for the boundary layer mesh straight away.
Based on the equations and theory of flat plate, zero pressure gradient flat plate boundary layers, I developed the tool to visualize the mesh and relevant flow parameters.

The tool was so far only tested by myself, so please let me know if there is anything that needs improving or that does not seem correct.

The tool also contains a y+ calculator which feeds directly in the meshing settings.

For now, the tool is mainly designed for Reynolds Numbers between 1e4 and 1e6 but can also be used carefully for other Re numbers close to that range.

I used Python3.9 with pyqt5 package for the software.
An installation is not needed, just download the zip file from here, unpack, and run the .exe:

This is definitely not malware, you can allow windows to run it.
