Does anyone knows if it's possible to simulate the plasma sheat (and it's characteristics like frequency) generated by shock waves in hypersonic flights?
I've been researching that and I can't find any material..

I am trying to have this but the literature on sheath is sparse. In fact whatever available is practically useless.

Do you have something that explains how to calculate sheath generation?

I feel you. What I know for sure is that the sheath can be simulated by adding multiple species (O2, N2, O+, e-, etc) and their mass balance equations to the solver. I don't know exactly what transport method to use (neither how to implement in any software). With that you should be able to see the density of the plasma sheath, although it doesn't give you any information about the EM properties of the plasma.

Edit: The article that is helping me the most is: Radiation and Scattering of EM Waves in Large Plasmas Around Objects in Hypersonic Flight.
