Hi,
I have been simulating flow over an in line oscillating cylinder and control rod system in the lock in region. I started the simulations on OpenFOAM - 10 version in January of 2022, in a PC that had Windows software. Then, after finishing my thesis, I had to re-run the simulation on a broader spectrum of frequencies, on a cluster that had Ubuntu software. I had to install the newer version of OpenFOAM, OpenFOAM - 11, that has revised solvers and dynamic meshes. Every parameter of the simulation remaint the same, the only thing that changed is the dynamicMeshDict that had to recomposed in a different fashion. Also, I ran pimpleFoam on OpenFOAM 10 and on OpenFOAM 11, i have to change controlDict with foamRun and incompressibleFluid application, that reads pimple from fvSolution (is it the same thing?). The results I am getting for the same frequencies and the same in line oscillations (I am running laplacian Displacement), differ! What is happening? The mathematical models and everything is the same! P.S. I am running the simulations in parallel, 4 processors, scotch decomposing Thank you in advance, I really need your help. |
