hello, i am working on internal flow phanomenas and their acoustical effects. does anybody know if there are correlations between the specific turb. energie and the sound level ? i would also appreciate any information about literature concerning this problem. thanks in advance !

I believe there is such a correlation. As far as I know, it is called Lighthill's analogy. Howevere, if you are working with an internal flow with boundaries the integral scale of turbulence may be very important, too. Some time before I've developed a code for industry which deals with acoustics of ducted propellers (reported at ECMI conference). Can send you a copy of the report. Perhaps, it maight be of use for you. Yours sincerely. Gregory Vilensky. |
